Back-to-back Wins in WCSA and MNCAA Futsal

by Gino Pinga

In WCSA, the UA&P’s Women’s Futsal Varsity won a landslide victory of 3-0 against Assumption Makati College. 1 goal was struck by Evanmarie Mendoza (#5) while the 2 other goals were by Charles Ignacio (#4). Many turnovers and successful passes by our fellow Lady Dragons catapulted an almost uncontested win. Compared to their previous effort against the Enderun Titans a few weeks ago, the tide has changed in favor UA&P’s Women’s Futsal Team for their tenacity, maintaining excellent ball possession. This glorious victory brought in a good omen for the following Semi Finals game of the Men’s Futsal Varsity that happened at 12:30pm.

This brought in 2 successful goals by Coby Daez (#17), 1 by Louie Cacho (#8), and 1 bewildering shot by their team captain Lorenzo Hermosa (#7). On the other side of the fence, PWU had 2 impressive goals by Magsuot (#11) in a penalty kick and their attacker, Lufamia (#18) during the second half of the semi-finals game. In an interview, Coach Jay-AR was displeased with the loss but was grateful to almost go toe-to-toe against UA&P.

The hype is on for the Finals game coming Sunday next week in PSB . Our UA&P dragons will be up against their long time rivals Enderun Titans. Will our athletes maintain their momentum? Will our athletes win again?

Correction: A previous version of this article said that Coby Daez (#17) scored 3 successful goals instead of the correct information where Coby Daez (#17) scored 2 goals and another one was scored by Louie Cacho (#8).
